Meet Our Executive Leadership

Ang Xing Xian

Co-Founder / Strategy & Tech

A disciplined risk-loving entrepreneur determined to improve the efficiency of our financial industry. Upon graduation on a scholarship, he found his passion for finance when he first started with Credit Suisse in London. He then went on to join MarketInvoice, the largest invoice trading platform in the UK and subsequently Creador, a leading private equity firm in Malaysia. Prior to CapBay, Xing Xian was a management consultant with Accenture, implementing strategies on technology and analytics for many major companies. Xing Xian graduated with an MSc in Computational Finance from Oxford University.

Edwin Tan

Co-Founder / Operations & Finance

A dedicated and meticulous perfectionist who is passionate about contributing to the development and growth of Malaysia. Upon graduation on a scholarship, Edwin served as a corporate finance advisor in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Sydney, where he advised clients on merger and acquisition deals, specialising in real assets and commodities. Edwin graduated with an MSc in Financial Economics from Oxford University.

Darrel Ang

Co-Founder / Business Development

An investment banker turned entrepreneur with a diverse work experience in the financial sector and a passion to advance the FinTech space in Southeast Asia. Prior to his IB role in Credit Suisse Singapore, Darrel did regulatory work in Bank Negara Malaysia and financial services consulting at Oliver Wyman London. He executed several large IPOs and placements in Southeast Asia during his time at Credit Suisse, one of the top investment banks in the region. Darrel graduated with an MEng in Engineering, Economics, and Management from Oxford University.

Gareth Tan

Country Head, Singapore
A forward-thinking professional who believes in the collaborative potential between financial disruptors and traditional banks to address long-standing inefficiencies and serve underbanked businesses. He began his career in business development at major regional banks like OCBC and Maybank in Singapore, gaining valuable experience in traditional banking practices. His transition to the fintech startup sector saw him play a key role in Incomlend’s successful Series A funding round led by Sequoia. He then headed the sales & partnership function at Zetl, driving their market entry and growth in Singapore, and contributing to a successful seed round.

Jasmine Lau

Director

A seasoned banker with three decades of leadership experience in SME banking and supply chain finance. Being an award-winner accountant and fellow member of the Charter Association of Certified Accountant United Kingdom, Jasmine has held a diverse range of roles across Commercial Banking (CMB), Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) as well as Risk Management in HSBC across different geographies. She previously served as HSBC CMB’s Regional Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), GTRF’s Regional Head for Business Development for MENA and Turkey, and HSBC China’s Country Head GTRF. At present she is now holding the position of CapBay’s Director.
